The Siksika (Blackfoot) Nation, situated in southern Alberta, Canada, has introduced an innovative tool for language and culture preservation—the "Blackfoot App." This application is designed to enhance the learning of Siksika phrases categorized under 29 thematic sections, and it features interactive elements such as audio pronunciations, images, quizzes, and games.

An additional cultural dimension is provided through a collection of historical images, a short sign language video, and a selection of songs, which includes owl dance songs, hand game songs, lullabies, and word songs. These resources serve to enrich the user's understanding of the phrases while promoting the vibrant heritage of the Blackfoot community.

This initiative represents a collaborative effort between Old Sun Community College and the Siksika Board of Education, emphasizing the importance of education in connecting individuals with their cultural roots. The Blackfoot App is available for purchase at a price of $9.99 CAD.
